Rebecca Winder Jewellery was established in 2014. With over 20 years experience in jewellery design, making and teaching, she decided the next step would be to take the plunge and start her own business with a specific vision in mind.
Graduating in Jewellery in the 90’s, since this time Rebecca has been both working on her own pieces on a bespoke basis and free lancing for many high profile jewellers throughout the UK. During this time, she has also been involved in teaching new comers to create and design their own jewellery.
Rebecca has strong ideas and values that have shaped her business. Her drive is to make fine jewellery that is both socially and environmentally responsible, that doesn’t cost the earth.
As a Fairtrade Foundation registered licencee, Rebecca uses ethically sourced materials wherever possible.
“ My ethos is to try and raise awareness of how jewellery can have detrimental effects on those involved in the extraction of it’s raw materials. It’s important to both use and promote the value of ethically sourced materials for jewellery – something that not all are aware of. My aim is to make jewellery ‘responsible’ and fair. “
Her workshop is based in Leicester’s cultural quarter at Makers Yard – the oldest surviving hosiery factory in the East Midlands. The listed building has been restored and now houses a number of creative industries.
