Workshop : Spinner Rings

£110.00

NEW DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

Spinner ring workshop (also known as a fidget, meditation, or worry ring workshop) is a creative silversmithing session where participants learn to craft a wide sterling silver band with one or more outer rings that spin freely.

Designed for absolute beginners, the workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to traditional jewellery-making tools and techniques. You will be guided through the process of measuring, cutting, and shaping metal to create a kinetic piece of jewellery that is both stylish and functional for stress relief, can help stop nail biting and picking skin on fingers.

Duration: 10am-2:30pm

Capacity: my studio can take up to 8 learners this is to ensure personalised instruction.

You will leave with a finished, polished sterling silver spinner ring.

Skills You Will Learn

Throughout the session I will demonstrates essential silversmithing skills:
Measuring & Sizing: Calculating the correct dimensions for a comfortable fit.

Sawing & Piercing: Using a jeweller’s saw to cut silver sheet and wire.

Annealing: Softening metal with a blowtorch to make it pliable for shaping.

Texturing: Using hammers or stamps to add unique patterns to the metal.

Soldering: Using a torch to join the ends of the rings.

Flaring: A specific technique to widen the edges of the base ring, "trapping" the spinner bands so they cannot fall off while allowing them to move freely.

Polishing: Cleaning and buffing the final piece to a high shine.

Practical Information
Materials: Sterling silver is provided, and I offer copper or brass for the spinning bands to add a "pop" of contrasting colour.
Safety: Participants are generally required to wear closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and avoid loose clothing.

Duration: 4.5 hours with a break for lunch participants can either enjoy a delicious lunch @thestauntonstables @therealstauntondeli @staunton_harold_nurseries or bring their own packed lunch. Tea, coffee or cold drinks will be provided during the class.

Price: £110 pp : plus material cost if you wish to use gold. Cost of gold would vary dependent on what you choose and would be payable by card of BACS at the end of the class, price worked out by weight. You will know exactly how much your chosen piece will cost before you start making, so no nasty shocks at the end of the class.

Group size: Max 8 ppl
